How EmployBridge is Fighting Record-Low Unemployment Rates

Finding Solutions to Unemployment

As unemployment rates remain steady and the quickening pace of business drives resource needs sky-high, employers find themselves at a loss. Grappling with an inability to fill crucial roles within their organization, many employers turn to temporary staffing agencies to help them fill the gap, relying on companies like Employbridge, one of the largest industrial staffing companies in the US, to place competent, workforce-ready candidates in their payroll. But how do staffing agencies ensure they have enough skilled temporary employees to meet the growing need?

For Employbridge, the answer was partnering with national, at-scale online training solutions like Penn Foster to expand their benefit offerings to associates while building the workforce of tomorrow with reliable, skills-focused training that can be customized to meet the ever-changing needs of the workforce.

Celebrating an epic 25,000+ enrollment milestone in a remarkably short time frame, the Better WorkLife Academy has accelerated Employbridge's three decades of proven success as the backbone of the nation's leading workforce experts to new heights.

On Wednesday, August 21st, locations nation-wide marked the two year anniversary of the Better WorkLife Academy with festivities including cookouts, pastry buffets, job fairs, welcoming social shout outs, and even a special appearance of Paw Patrol's Marshall to entertain children while parents discuss job prospects that will have a lasting impact on the economic mobility of their family.

Besides coming together to celebrate a tremendous achievement, the Better WorkLife Day events aimed to continue the momentum of the previous year where they placed thousands of job seekers across the country into roles, upping their offerings this year to include registering current associates for the Better WorkLife Academy and Life Skills Studio.

Joining locations across Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, Penn Foster employees experienced first-hand the palpable energy that comes with putting more people to work at a grand scale and empowering blue-collar workers to upskill and train for the workforce of tomorrow through the Better WorkLife Academy.

Karyn Ramey, Sr. Client Success Manager at Penn Foster, was on site with the VP of Associate Experience and Advancement for EmployBridge, Cathi Canfield at their Raleigh, NC locations of ResourceMFG and ProLogistix. Ramey, a staffing industry veteran, said the event reminded her that "finding and retaining great talent transcends industry, from technology to healthcare to manufacturing. It's all people, and that's what makes working in the staffing industry so dynamic day-to-day." It's also what has propelled the staffing giants like EmployBridge into the forefront, pioneering the shift in workforce development.

"For the first time in a decade, there are more blue-collar jobs on the market than skilled workers to fill them. This puts the onus on employers of blue-collar workers to change their recruitment and retention strategies, or run the risk of losing a competitive advantage in what is currently the lowest unemployment market in fifty years," according to a recent survey released by EmployBridge.

But offering skills that enhance job opportunities didn't satisfy EmployBridge's need to distill lifelong learning habits into their employees, so they developed the LifeSkills Studio to expand their educational offerings beyond in-demand job skills. You can even earn your High School diploma while working as an associate, allowing people to work while increasing their earning potential.
